Negotiations Update #3
The district asked us to come back to the table; so we met today, Tuesday, July 12, 2016.
After being at the June TRUSD Board meeting and learning that the Administrative Certificated, Administrative Classified, and Confidential staff members had been given a raise for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 school years, we believed TRUSD was ready to make us a viable offer.
However, we were greatly disappointed!
Their offer included:
- 2% raise for the 2016-17 school year
- 2% off salary schedule (one-time bonus)
- 1% off salary schedule for professional development (6 hours completed prior to Dec. 31 and 6 hours completed before May 31)
- Negotiations to be closed for the 2017-18 school year
Clearly these proposals were not acceptable to the team. When other district employees are receiving 5% raises, 2% for the people who deliver the instructional programs is not an adequate proposal. Closing negotiations for the 2017-18 school year, when the entire contract is open for adjustments, is not an adequate proposal.
