The Twin Rivers United Educators (TRUE) will be holding an open nomination election for ONE of its Representatives on the CTA State Council of Education, and ONE of its Alternate Representatives on the CTA State Council, each with a three year term going from June 26, 2017 to June 25, 2020. The State Council Representative and Alternate will be elected by and from the TRUE active membership: the Representative by majority vote, and the runner-up becomes the Alternate (by plurality vote).
“The State Council of Education is the statewide representative body of CTA and serves as its legislative and policy making body. It considers and acts upon proposals affecting the welfare of the public schools of California; it elects the CTA Executive Officers and other Board of Directors members, determines CTA membership dues and adopts the CTA annual budget.”
