Dear TRUE Members,
On Monday, May 22nd our Negotiations Team, together with CTA staff, go into the Fact Finding Hearing to present to a three member panel. A lot of information has been given to you from the district and TRUE. I think the graphic below, edited by one of our Organizing Team Members, simplifies the bottom line of all the information sent out. The original graphic was sent out by the district, and the red notations were added by the Team member in response. It is also attached to this email.
Let’s also add that the district is asking that we let go/drop all of our grievances. Two of these grievances impact our members’ salaries and TK-Grade 6 weekly 30 minute prep time. The district is also asking we agree to all MOU’s “as is”. The district also wants us to waive TK-3 class size reduction language that is currently following Ed Code, and will not address the class size language our team presented.
Attached to this email is also TRUE’s Side by Side Response to the district’s concept of settlement that was sent out last Friday, as well as my Board speech at Tuesday’s School Board Meeting.
It has been reported by multiple teachers that Principals are approaching them with the information the district sent out, and are asking them why they aren’t taking this “great deal”. If you are approached by your administrator with this question, simple respond by saying, “I’m sorry, you are misinformed”, and walk away.
If you need to check back on information about Contract negotiations, remember that you can always find on the TRUE website (www.trueassociation.org), copy of all the TRUE Negotiations Updates that have been sent out to members, as well as the TRUE President’s messages. That is the most reliable source of information about your Contract negotiations.
Stay strong! Stand together! Wear your TRUE t-shirt or black on Monday in support of the TRUE/CTA team at Fact Finding!
