For Conference Scholarships, please follow this separate process:

Any member who requests financial support from TRUE to cover any, or all, expenses incurred attending conferences, workshops, or CTA trainings shall follow the procedure outlined below:

1. Send TRUE an email no less than one month prior to the conference with an explanation of why they want to go, what their role in the union is, how this will help TRUE’s membership or their teaching practice (for example: in the case of the New Teaching Conference), if they have received a scholarship/grant for a conference before from TRUE/CTA/NEA, how much they are requesting, and an agreement that they will make a presentation to Rep Council prior to reimbursement. All requests must go before Executive Board for possible approval of full or partial funding.

a. Members sent to receive training necessary to carry out a specific office to which they have been appointed, or elected, (i.e., CTA President’s Conference, CTA Negotiations training) may be excluded from this requirement.
