Being a member of TRUE/CTA/NEA entitles you to a variety of benefits. Please visit the pages below for additional information on the various benefits that are available. - TRUE’s Catastrophic Leave Bank – The Program allows TRUE Members to donate one sick day per year, participation is entirely voluntary. You MUST be apart of the bank for a minimum of one year before you are eligible to withdrawal, and have exhausted all your eligible leave. You can read more about this in Article 17 of our contract.
- TRUE Scholarships – Every year, TRUE offers scholarship opportunities to TRUE Members, TRUE members’ dependent children entering college or already in college, and for TRUSD Seniors.
- Employment Liability Insurance – As a TRUE/CTA/NEA member, you are automatically covered by the EEL insurance at no additional cost.
- CTA Member Benefits Page – Dedicated website with information on benefits including discounts for everyday purchases, travel discounts and insurance.
- CTA Group Legal Services – As a current TRUE/CTA member you may be entitled to receive one free hour of advice and consultation in a civil employment related matter and a half-hour free advice and consultation in a non-employment matter.
- NEA Member Benefits – NEA site with discounts and benefits including a 15% discount on AT&T wireless services and two free annual magazine subscriptions, Click and Save – Shopping discounts, NEA Medicare Supplement Program, NEA Dental and Vision Insurance and so much more.
- The Standard is a CTA Endorsed Life and Disability Insurance provider.
- California Casualty is a CTA Endorsed Auto & Home Insurance provider, offering identity-theft resolution service and discounted rates for educators.

- CTA’s California Educator magazine is an award-winning bimonthly publication that keeps you informed about issues and trends in education, teaching, student learning, legislation and policy, and local and state association activities and accomplishments.
- CTA’s Institute for Teaching – The CTA Institute for Teaching mission is to enhance, support, and sustain high quality teaching and high quality public schools for all California students. Through mobilizing teachers, special programs, research, conferences, networking, and community-based coalitions, the CTA Institute for Teaching seeks to advance public education and promote the common good of our students and communities.
